ClassLink

(Please note: Parents are not able to access ClassLink as they do not have accounts.)

  • We recommend using the Chrome or Edge browser to access ClassLink.
  • Before you begin, enable the ClassLink OneClick Extension; the automatic sign-on for some sites won't work without this extension enabled.
  • To log in to ClassLink on a home device:

    1. Open a web browser and navigate to the LCS ClassLink Portal (https://launchpad.classlink.com/leonschools):

A Leon County Schools digital login page with login buttons for Microsoft and Apple.

    1. Click on the “Sign in with Microsoft” button in the center of the screen. You will then see the following page:

A screenshot of a sign-in page for Leon County Schools with an email input field and a next button.

    1. Enter the student’s full email (studentID@edu.leonschools.net), where studentID is the student’s nine-digit ID number, usually beginning with 180... or 171.... Click “Next”.
    1. On the next screen, enter the student’s password and hit Enter. If the login is successful, you should see the same screen full of icons that the student sees when they log in to a school Chromebook on campus, similar to this:

A screenshot of a blue educational portal interface displaying various app icons and a search bar.

On an iOS or Android Phone or Tablet:

    • Install the ClassLink Launchpad app for iOS or Android.
Don't attempt to use ClassLink in Safari or Chrome; mobile operating systems don't fully support browser extensions, so the single-sign-on capabilities of ClassLink don't work properly outside of the ClassLink app on these devices.
    • Open the app and browse to the Leon County school district, or find the Sign in with Microsoft button.
    • At the Microsoft login screen, sign in with the same username and password format listed above.
  • Not Connected

The most common error seen when attempting to use the LCS ClassLink Portal from home is after clicking the "Sign in to Microsoft" button, you get the following message:

A digital screen displays a red error notification reading "Not Connected" for a Microsoft account.

where the purple box contains an email address that belongs to someone other than the student trying to log in. If you get this error message, the problem is that the browser window you are using has a profile set up on it that already has a Microsoft account linked to it. You either need to use a browser window with no profile (Incognito or InPrivate) or you need to set up a browser profile for your student. Please see the instructions for using an Incognito or InPrivate window, or for setting up a profile on the device that applies to you.

  • Using a web browser without a Profile is called “Incognito” mode for Chrome and “InPrivate” mode for Edge. An Edge browser will be used in these examples, but a Chrome browser is very similar. To open a window in this mode:

    1. Click on the three horizontal dots in the top right corner of your regular browser window.

A screenshot of a web browser toolbar with a red arrow pointing to the three dots menu icon.

    1. In the resulting drop-down menu, the third item should be “New InPrivate Window” or “New Incognito Window”. Select it.

A browser menu is open with a red arrow pointing to the "Show all downloads" option.

    1. A new window will open in InPrivate/Incognito mode. Use this window to log in to ClassLink following the Basic Instructions above.

Note that all site data, browsing history, and cookies will be lost when you close this window. If you want your information to be saved, you must set up a Profile in a regular browser window.

  • In a Windows or Apple Operating System (O.S.), creating a new browser profile is similar for both Chrome and Edge. The images here are for an Edge browser.

    1. In the browser window you have been using, click on the Profile Icon in the top right corner: Your icon may be a picture of you or your initials, but it should be to the left of the three horizontal dots.

A view of a web browser interface with a red arrow pointing to the profile icon on the toolbar.

    1. In the resulting drop-down menu, click on the “Set up new profile” option. If given a choice between a “Personal” profile or a “Work or School” profile, select “Work or School”.

A browser window displays a profile dropdown menu with a red arrow pointing to the other profiles option.

    1. You will get a pop-up window and be asked to enter some information to identify / label this new Profile. Use your student’s information. Once the new window is opened using the Profile you just created, use it to log in to ClassLink following the Basic Instructions.
    2. Should you need to switch Profiles in the future, they will be listed when you click on the Profile Icon in an existing window. If you are starting a browser from scratch, you should be prompted to select which Profile to use.
  • If the device you are using is a Chromebook, you will need to create a new login Profile.

    1. If you are already logged in to the Chromebook, log out by clicking on the clock in the corner of the screen and selecting the “Sign Out” button.
    2. When you get to the screen where you usually enter your password to log on to the device, look in the bottom left corner for a button labelled "Add Person" and click on it.
    3. You will be asked for a username. Use your student's email (studentID@edu.leonschools.net, where studentID is your student’s nine-digit ID number, usually starting with 180… or 171...).
    4. When you click "Next" you will see the LCS ClassLink Portal page shown below. Click on "Sign in with Microsoft" and proceed as explained in the Basic Instructions. You should end up with a desktop that looks just like when your student logs in on a school Chromebook. A Leon County Schools ClassLink login portal with a "Sign in with Microsoft" button in the center.
    5. To switch between this new account and your account, either sign out as in step #1 or put the Chromebook to sleep and wake it back up. The login screen should now show both the existing and new accounts, and you can select which one you want to use.
