Speech & Language Services

Speech and language services are provided to qualified students by certified Speech‑Language Pathologists. SLPs collaborate with teachers and other staff to embed communication goals into the curriculum. Students qualify under an Individualized Education Program (IEP) through assessments that identify speech or language impairments that cause an adverse effect on educational performance. Services are provided based on student’s needs as defined in their IEP and typically target one or more of these areas:

  • Speech (articulation, fluency)
  • Language (receptive and expressive)
  • Pragmatics (social language)
  • AAC (assistive technology for students with limited verbal skills)
