Killearn Lakes Elementary

Hi Leprechauns, my name is Carrie Ling! I have been teaching since 2002. I have taught 5th grade, 4th grade, 3rd grade, 2nd grade, and Technology. For most of my career, I have taught all subject areas, but I love that I get to teach Math and Science all day this year. I am excited to be in 5^th grade and love being a part of a fantastic group of teachers at KLES! I have previously been named a top 4 finalist for Manatee County teacher of the year, teacher of the year at Harvey Elementary, teacher of the year at Braden River Elementary, named a Congressional teacher, Bay News 9 A+ teacher award (Tampa Bay area), a Florida high impact teacher, and rated as a highly effective teacher each year.

I have lived in Florida for almost my entire life and attended school in Manatee County. I went to Florida State University (Go Noles!!) and the University of South Florida. I graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.S. focusing on Curriculum and Instruction from FSU!! Go Seminoles!! I am married to my high school sweetheart, George, and together we have 3 children who all attend FSU! We also have three fur babies: Gabbie Gellar Green, Mollie Wobbles, and Saddie Belle (all rescue puppies). I'm an identical twin and come from a family of 5 kids! I love reading and all things Math! I'm looking forward to meeting all my new kiddos and having a fantastic year together!
