     We are truly looking forward to an amazing year ahead with our new Leprechauns! In first grade, your child will continue to grow in confidence and independence as a reader and writer. Students will strengthen their number sense, explore addition and subtraction strategies and relationships, and develop an understanding of place value, time, shapes, and money. In science, students will dive into what it means to be a scientist, learn exciting science concepts and essential academic vocabulary, and actively participate in hands-on science experiments. In social studies, students will learn the qualities of a good citizen, explore the lives of famous Americans, discover the history of the United States, and learn about different cultures and customs of people in the past.

   We are excited, motivated, and ready to support and guide your child through a successful and rewarding school year!
