Welcome to Third Grade leprechauns, we are so excited you are here! 

Third grade is an important year in your child’s academic growth. It is a time for learning responsibility, independence, and academic perseverance.

This year we will be using SAVVAS myView Literacy Florida as our Language Arts curriculum. We will give reading assessments and spelling checks weekly. Students will use the Lexia Reading computer program for daily practice of literacy skills, and we will use the STAR Reading assessment to monitor reading proficiency throughout the year.

We will also utilize the Go Math Florida curriculum for mathematics. Tests and quizzes will be given throughout the year to assess student progress. Students will practice math skills using the i-Ready and Reflex computer programs, which include a diagnostic assessment that monitors math proficiency throughout the year.

Students will complete the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (F.A.S.T.) three times this year as part of the Florida Department of Education's system of progress monitoring. (August, December and May)

Our Social Studies instruction includes the study of economics, regions and cultures in the U.S. and North America, government, and map skills. Science instruction is inquiry-based and focuses on application of concepts.
