Monday, January 26th |
Red, White and Blue Day
Students will wear the colors associated with our country. After listening to the book F is for Flag by Wendy Cheyette Lewison, students will design their own patriotic bookmark using the colors red, white, and blue. |

Tuesday, January 27th (100th day of school) |
Flag Day
Students will listen to the book A New Flag by Robert Harris. They will learn about Betsy Ross and how she contributed to the making of our flag. Classrooms will create a new American flag and display it for all to see. |

Wednesday, January 28th |
Famous Monuments Day
Students will listen to Who Carved the Mountain? by Jean L.S. Patrick, as well as learn about famous monuments in our country and their locations. Using STEM materials, they will then build an existing monument or create a new one. Students will then write about their monument. |

Thursday, January 29th |
Tourist Day
Students are encouraged to wear a t-shirt of a place they have visited or would like to visit. Classes will listen to the story All Aboard! National Parks by Kevin and Haily Meyers. They will then write a paragraph describing the place they’ve visited on their t-shirt or choose a place they would like to visit. Students will write about that place inside a t-shirt template explaining what people can do or experience when visiting that place. |

Friday, January 30th |
Pajama Day
Students are encouraged to wear pajamas to school. Students will listen to the book Good Night America by Adam Gamble as a class. Afterwards, students will then flashlight read with their big/little buddy. |
