Killearn Lakes Elementary

I am so excited and pleased to be your child's 2nd grade teacher this school year!  I am a native Floridian, growing up in a 'one stoplight town' near Gainesville, FL.  I had some great teachers growing up who inspired me to pursue a degree in Education.  I spread my wings a little bit coming the 3 hours to Florida State University where I earned my degree. I fell in love with Tallahassee and have been with Leon County Schools since 2003. The 22+ years I've spent in the classroom and with amazing colleagues has led me down the path of advocating for all kinds of learners.  Teaching isn't just a passion, it's a gift. 

Outside of school I keep very busy with my church and family.  My husband, Mark, and I have 3 children who love playing a variety of sports. Our oldest, Josh, recently moved to Dallas, TX to begin his very own grown-up job!!!  Cheering them on at the field or in their life goals is a great joy!  I love all things FSU, teacher-y Pinterest boards, exercise (especially dance) and time spent with friends.  I am so eager to learn about your family as well.  Welcome to a fantastic year together!
